I got a call from Marvel to do a cover for the comic, Deadpool. The deadline was a week. Which is tight for me. I ended up with only about 5 days to work on it.
I sent off this sketch of zombie George Washington attacking Deadpool.
They needed it to read more clearly as George Washington. So I freaked out a little and wracked my brain. I came up with a new idea. Here’s the quick sketch I sent.
That was approved. I rounded up reference and got a finished sketch together.
I started blocking in color.
And I ended up here. I hope people who like Deadpool will like it.
I’m launching my new site today. It is easier to update, so I’ll be adding new work more often.
Here are some sketches for a book cover I’m working on. I just found out that we are going in a new direction after three weeks of development. : ) They might use the ravens on the back cover though, so it’s kind of a win. These are mostly ink pen and Sharpie. The ravens have a little grey watercolor washed in.

I like the dried Sharpie effects I got on these sketches of trees. I felt a little Bob Ross magic happening.
